Kolkata: In a major twist in the Sheena Bora murder case, her father, Siddharth Das, came out in the open for the first time on Tuesday and demanded death sentence for Indrani Mukerjea if she was guilty of her daughter’s murder.
He claimed that he is Sheena and Mikhail’s biological father but also revealed that he had not married Ms Mukerjea. While Sheena was born on February 11 in 1987, Mikhail was born on September 9 in 1988 when they were in a live-in relationship in Shillong, according to him.
“If she has murdered her and it is proved, then I want her to be hanged,” Mr Das, in his mid-forties, said when asked by the media persons he wanted.
He interacted with the media astride his motorcycle with his face completely hidden under a helmet at the EM Bypass near a hotel in the morning.
“I do not want to reveal my identity because (such an exposure) may adversely affect my personal and professional life,” Mr Das claimed.

After Indrani, in his own words “dumped” him, he moved on in life and married a woman from whom he has a teenaged son. He said that he has been living with his small family in a rented house at Durganagar in Dum Dum of North Kolkata. “I am not a high-profile man. I work in a small company and lead a very ordinary life,” he added, without disclosing the name of the private company.
Mr Das recalled that he had met Indrani when she was studying in a college in Shillong.
“I was not financially sound then. I did not have a stable income then,” he said candidly. Mr Das also accused Indrani of neglecting her children and suspected that greed for money might have driven her to kill Sheena. He had called up Sheena once when she was in Class X.
Meanwhile, Siddharth Das’ wife, who was totally in the dark about his past was shocked beyond belief when two days ago, she learnt that he was Sheena Bora and Mikhail’s biological father. She felt betrayed.
However, as Siddharth has always been a “loving husband”, his present wife has decided to let bygones be bygones.
