Nalgonda encounter: Telangana CM to order SIT probe into killing of 5 suspected terrorists
Hyderabad: Following the widespread hue and cry over the genuinity of Telangana State police encounter on five terror suspects at Alair in Nalgonda, Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao decided to order a probe into the incident. The CM has instructed Telangana Chief Secretary to issue an order to appoint a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to conduct the investigation.

Official sources from CM’s office said that the decision is taken following the demands from organisations and individuals, who expressed doubts about the authenticity of police claims. The order to constitute an SIT will be released on Monday by the Chief Secretary Mr. Rajiv Sharma, officials said.
Earlier, National Human Right Commission has also sought a report from State police DGP Anurag Sharma regarding the case. The Commission had said it was hard believe police claim that four restrained prisoners in police vehicle guarded by several cops helping the main accused Vaquar to over power the officer. The Commission also called it as instances of ‘blatant use of disproportionat
e force resulting in loss of lives of 5 under trials’.

Soon after the encounter, families of the suspects had came out against the police action alleging it was a pre planned murder. Father of the main accused, Viquar Ahmed, had stated that his son had apprehensions about the murder plan earlier, and they had lodged a complaint with the Director General of State Prisons and High Court Chief Justice last year.
Majlis party Chief Mr. Asaduddin Owaisi, Majlis Bachao Tehreek party leader Mr. Amjedulla Khan and other community leaders had also alleged that it was a murder. MIM chief, who called it ‘police revenge’, had also met TS ministers and expressed concern over the incident.
The activists of People’s Union for Civil Liberties, Telangana, had also alleged that it was a fake encounter and said that police claims are blatant lies.
