20 villages under Andhra Pradesh capital

The government will issue notifications earmarking the boundaries

Hyderabad: The Andhra Pradesh government has decided to constitute its new capital with 15 to 20 villages and planning to create the capital region with 29 villages.

The AP government officials are ready with the Ordinance of Andhra Pradesh Capital Region Development Authority (CRDA) in accordance with the blueprint prepared by the officers to set up the capital. After issuing the Ordinance the government will issue notifications earmarking the boundaries for the capital and its region.

According to highly placed sources, the government simultaneously will notify the rules for the functioning of the CRDA.

As AP Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu returns to Hyderabad, the officers are expecting that the process of constituting the CRDA and other bodies will speed up.

The government has decided to accord extraordinary powers to the Authority to acquire any movable or immovable property by purchase, exchange, gift lease mortgage, negotiated settlement or by any other means permissible under the law.

The Authority is also empowered to create special purpose vehicles for various purposes. The CRDA will have two major bodies, one headed by the Mr Naidu and the other headed by the principal secretary of municipal administration.
