Beas tragedy: Another body recovered, five are still missing
Mandi: The body of another drowned student of VNR Vignana Jyothi Institute of Engineering and Technology was recovered from Beas river in Himachal Pradesh on Thursday.
The deceased has been identified as 20-year-old Jagadish Mudiraj from Hyderabad.

Till now, 19 bodies have been recovered and five are still missing.
Jagadish was a resident of Rahmat nagar, near Jubliee Hills.
The Himachal Pradesh High Court on Wednesday ordered the city’s VNR Vignan Jyothi Institute of Engineering and Technology to pay half of the Rs 5 lakh compensation to the families of the students who had died in the Beas river mishap. The other half will be paid by the dam authorities who had released the water.

The families of the 24 students and that of the tour operator will have to be paid Rs 5 lakh each. A HP HC division bench comprising Chief Justice Mansoor Ahmad Mir and Justice Tarlok Singh Chauhan ordered the compensation. The court also said that the investigation into the case would continue.
