I have never been offered a film on Dhyan Chand: Shah Rukh Khan

Mumbai: After numerous rumours and speculation about Bollywood actor Shah Rukh Khan playing the role of Dhyan Chand in the hockey legend’s biopic, the actor has finally revealed the truth in an interview with Hindustan Times.

Shah Rukh was quoted saying, “Don’t believe what you read in the papers. I have also read that I am doing a film on Dhyan Chand. I have never been offered a film on Dhyan Chand. I have been reading about it in the papers.”

The news surfaced first in 2012, five years after the star played a hockey coach in ‘Chak De! India’. And then after the release of ‘Bhaag Mikha Bhaag’ it resurfaced as biopics were all the rage then.

According to the report, rumours were abuzz that the Shah Rukh would also be seen producing the film, but he has denied the news saying, “I read in the papers that I am (producing it). I don’t know who is even making it.”
