CAT results: Andhra Pradesh tops in 100 percentile

Eight students, all boys, score 100 percentile; AP comes out in flying colours.
Bangalore: The Common Admission Test (CAT) results for admission to IIMs and other B-schools were declared today, with eight candidates scoring a perfect 100 percentile score. All these eight candidates are male and from engineering background.
Six of them are from the IITs, said CAT 2013 convenor Prof Rohit Kapoor. There are 10 candidates also who have scored 99.9 percentile, and one of them is a female, he said.
Andhra Pradesh, Maharashtra (Mumbai) and Delhi topped with respect to 100 percentile scores.
CAT 2013 was conducted in 76 secure test centres across 40 cities over a 25-day testing window from October 16 to November 11, 2013.
Following the CAT scores, the final selection would be based on the performance in the Written Ability Test (WAT), Personal Interview (PI) and Group Discussion (GD). Other factors including past academic records, work experience, gender and stream of graduation is also taken into account by IIMs.
In all, 1.94 lakh candidates had registered for the exam and 1.74 lakh took the test. Candidates can log on to www.cat2013.iimidr.ac.in to check their results. Access to the results will be available till the end of this year. Candidates have been advised to retain a printed copy of their score card.
