Putin Blames EU and NATO Policies for Prolonging Ukraine War

In phone calls with the leaders of Finland and Norway, the Russian president criticised what the Kremlin called the West’s “confrontational” approach.

Russian President Vladimir Putin slammed EU and NATO countries in a phone call on Tuesday with the leaders of Finland and Norway, saying their "confrontational" policy was dragging out the Ukraine war, the Kremlin said.

In the call, "attention was drawn to the confrontational policy of the EU and NATO countries, which is leading to a protraction of hostilities," the Kremlin said in a statement, adding that the three leaders had "agreed to continue maintaining direct contact by telephone".
