Pakistan's ex-PM Nawaz Sharif says graft case based on lies
Mr Sharif said he had to bear exile and legal procedures because of the baseless allegations hurled by those who do politics of lies.

Islamabad: Ousted Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on Tuesday said that he was denied the right to appeal and was forced to continue fighting cases based on lies and fake accusations against him.
Mr Sharif criticised the judiciary for disqualifying him, claiming the prosecution has failed to prove any charges against him or his family in the Panama Papers graft scandal.
His comments came as an anti-corruption court decided to indict him on October 2 after Mr Sharif for the first time appeared before it to face corruption charges.
Mr Sharif said he had to bear exile and legal procedures because of the baseless allegations hurled by those who do politics of lies, adding he had ignored all threats for the people of Pakistan who still love him.
About the Panama Papers case, Mr Sharif said he was disqualified on Iqama (work permit) as the court did not find any corruption evidence against him in Panamagate.
“I faced the ‘Panama drama’, a case in which the entire burden of proof was placed on us.... but there were elements who had conducted their own inquiries. There were some against whom the court itself cannot take any action,” he alleged.
