30 Killed in Pakistani Taliban Explosives Blast in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa
Explosion at militant compound in Tirah Valley kills civilians and militants; officials deny airstrike reports

New Delhi: Intelligence reports said the Pakistan Air Force has bombed a Tirah Valley village in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, close to the border with Afghanistan, killing 30 innocent civilians, many of them women and children.
In protest against this massacre by the Pakistani armed forces, the Afridi Pashtuns are expected to lay siege to the Pakistan Air Force station located in Peshawar.
According to intelligence reports, overnight (intervening night of September 21-22, 2025), the Pakistan Air Force conducted an airstrike in Matre Dara village, Aka Khel Shalda, located in the Tirah Valley region of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in Pakistan.
At around 2 am, Chinese-made JF-17 fighter jets dropped at least eight LS-6 bombs on the village, said the intelligence reports.
The strike has caused massive civilian casualties, with about 30 people killed, many of them women and children. The villagers report that the scene is one of total devastation, with bodies strewn across homes and streets.
There is currently no confirmation from official Pakistani military or government sources regarding the scale of the attack, the target, or whether there was any militant presence in the village. However, pro-ISPR handles are showing it as a secondary explosion triggered due to the IEDs kept by locals, said the intelligence reports.
The official silence is, however, in consonance with Pakistan armed forces’ actions against its own citizens, as seen earlier in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa or in Balochistan, the intelligence sources said.
International human rights organisations have called for a thorough investigation into these allegations, urging respect for the laws of armed conflict, protection of civilians and accountability for any violations.
According to reports, leaders of the Afridi Pashtun tribe are holding a meeting with local residents in Matre Dara village after the civilian killings in the Pakistani airstrikes. In protest against this massacre by the Pakistani armed forces, the Afridi Pashtuns may also lay siege to the Pakistan Air Force station located in Peshawar.
Meanwhile, discussions are underway in Matre Dara village on how to stage demonstrations and how to respond to the massacre carried out by the Pakistani armed forces overnight, the intelligence inputs said.
