The NACTA also passed on threat warnings to Pakistan People's Party (PPP) chief Bilawal Bhutto.

Islamabad: Heads of various political parties continue to run electoral campaigns despite threats to their personal safety. Earlier, the National Counter Terrorism Authority (NACTA) had warned leaders of several mainstream political parties about threats to their personal safety including Imran Khan, Afsandyar Wali, Aftab Ahmad Khan Sherpao, Akram Durrani, Ameer Haider Hoti, and Talha Saeed.

The NACTA also passed on threat warnings to Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) chief Bilawal Bhutto. Despite the threats, leaders and heads of major political parties have continued to campaign for the upcoming general elections.

Meanwhile, a former provincial minister and senior leader of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf was killed when a suicide bomber blew himself up near his car in the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa province, police said.

Ikramullah Gandapur, a candidate for the provincial assembly seat from PK-99 constituency, was on his way to an election meeting when the bomber targeted his vehicle in Dera Ismail Khan district.
