NAB opposes transferring Sharif family cases

NAB's prosecutor requested the court to keep the cases before the same accountability court “in the interest of justice”.

Islamabad: Pakistan’s National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has opposed transferring two references pending against the Sharif family to an accountability court.

The NAB urged the Islamabad High Court (IHC) to keep the judge unchanged, insisting that he had been hearing the cases for the past 10 months.

NAB’s prosecutor requested the court to keep the cases before the same accountability court “in the interest of justice”.

NAB’s Deputy Prosecutor-General Sardar Muzaffar Abbasi presented arguments before the IHC’s division bench, comprising Justice Aamer Farooq and Justice Miangul Hassan Aurangzeb.
