China bans videos of people eating banana seductively' online
Beijing: Tightening the noose around an already battered internet freedom, Chinese authorities have issued a notice on new regressive restrictions on the nature of content on live streaming sites.
According to reports, Chinese authorities have placed a slew of new restrictions which include some bizarre ones like ban on eating banana 'seductively'.
The notice has been issued by the Ministry of Culture in order 'to protect the social morality' after it announced that it was investigating several websites for hosting objectionable content.
Users and experts believe that the move would naturally backfire, as users would find something else 'phallic', like cucumbers or probably even yam, as these sites are growing popular in China, sometimes even featuring underage users, especially women.
China has one of the most restrictive internet policies in the world, especially social media sites regularly bearing the brunt if they are perceived to be critical of the government.
