Saudi father shaves daughter's head, locks her up for 4 years for kissing man

The victim said that she was forced to urinate in a cup and was not allowed to use the bathroom.

Jeddah: A man in Saudi Arabia has been accused of allegedly locking up his daughter at his home in Jeddah for a period of over four years because she had 'kissed a man', which according to him was un-Islamic.

Identified as Amina Al-Jeffery, the victim, said that despite being born in Swansea in UK, she was forcefully taken to Saudi Arabia by her father at the age of 16.

According to a report in the Daily Mail, Amina said that her father was disappointed with her western lifestyle and he subjected her to a series of abuses including starving her without food and water for days, beating her and even shaving her head bald.

A case has been registered against the accused and a trial of the same is being heard at the High Court.

During the trial, Amina's lawyers told the judge that a case was registered against Amina's father only after she managed to escape from the house and contacted the police.

"She wants to return home so she can have control of her own life and make her own choices," her lawyer was quoted as saying.

While narrating her ordeal, Amina told the prosecutors that while she was in her father's captivity, she was not allowed to use the bathroom. Instead she was forced to urinate in a cup.

Amina, who is an adult now, holds a dual Saudi Arabia as well as UK citizenship.
