'Learned to decapitate prisoners, not read,' say children who attended ISIS schools

The children were forced to construct bombs, learn to use a gun as well as behead people.

Baghdad: Nearly a million children living in ISIS-held territories in Iraq and Syria who attended the terror group's schools were taught how to decapitate prisoners, use ammunition and make suicide vests -- instead of reading and writing, their families have said.

According to a report in the Daily Mail, several Iraqi families have claimed that their children were forced out of schools by the militants and made to attend ISIS-run schools.

The children were forced to construct bombs, learn to use a gun as well as behead people. "They would tell children how to make bombs. When children came out from the school there was a big TV in the garden where they were showing propaganda: how to kill and how to make suicide bombs and how to cut heads off," said one of the child's father.

"We told them… you should not believe it. This is not the right Islam. We were guiding our children to make sure they didn't believe everything they were taught," he added.

Last month, activist group, Raqqa is Being Slaughtered Silently, said that the terror group had been working systematically to indoctrinate school children. They had been sabotaging the education process for their own good, the activist group claimed.

A report also stated that ISIS militants used to send children home with Caucasian dolls that were dressed up in orange jumpsuits and were asked to 'behead them' as part of their homework.

This is not the first time ISIS has used children for their activities. They have been portraying children as suicide bombers and terrorists in their propaganda videos since a long time. Tagged 'blank slate' by militants, these kids are also provided with extreme martial arts training.
