Muscat: A 31-year-old woman who worked at a hotel in Muscat, was allegedly murdered by an Indian man for spurning his sexual advances.
According to report in Gulf News, Pinky Pamittan, who was a Filipina waitress, was beaten and strangled to death by her Indian colleague when she refused to have sex with him. Police said that the suspect threw her body behind a Mosque after the murder.
Investigation into the case revealed that Pinky had several disputes with the murderer and even owed him money and allegedly refused to pay up. The two of them worked for the Qurum Hotel in Muscat.
Pamittan’s mother told the media that she was going to turn 32 on November and had moved to Oman to work many years ago. She has a husband and son who stay in Philippines and she used to send them money.
Her friends are demanding justice and are using the hashtag #JusticeforPinky on social media sites to bring attention to her case.
“It is truly devastating. I know the reason why you were working abroad was to help your child and family. You don’t deserve this barbaric treatment. We will seek for justice for your death,” said Mariah, a user on social media.
