Syria: 4-yr-old girl dies after picking up cluster bomb mistaking it for toy

Aleppo: A four-year-old girl in Aleppo, Syria, has succumbed to the blast injuries she suffered when a cluster bomb she picked up thinking it was a toy had exploded in her hand.

According to a report in Daily Mail, the girl, Eman, was collecting water when she found the cluster bomb, and picked it up.

The explosion broke both of Eman’s legs and she also sustained injuries on her face.

She died at a hospital in Aleppo where she was undergoing treatment.

Eman became another victim of the ongoing civil war in Syria. At least 100 children have been killed in Aleppo in the past 10 days, according to United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights chief Zeid bin Ra'ad Al-Hussein.

There is also a lack of medical assistance in the city. A total of only five hospitals are operational in Aleppo for at least 250,000 people. Civilians in Aleppo regularly fall victims of conflict between the Syrian government forces and the rebel fighters in the country.
