Dubai: A 43-year-old Arabic language teacher has been arrested for sexually abusing an 11-year-old student during a private learning session in UAE's Dubai.
According to a report in the Khaleej Times, the accused pleaded guilty to groping the victim and even threatening her to fail her in exams unless she allowed him to touch her.
During interrogation, the accused told police that he groped the girl when he was alone with her. However, he was caught red-handed by the victim's mother, who then reported the matter to Al Rafaa police station.
In her statement to the police, the victim said that she was scared of her teacher who often tried to touch her. Whenever she tried to push his hands away, he threatened to flunk her.
When asked about how she came to know of the accused's actions, the victim's mother said, "I went to my bedroom. But I came back to check on her when I did not hear her voice for a while. He was lifting her shirt. I shouted at him to stop."
The accused has been detained and police are carrying out further investigation.
