Dubai: Filipino nanny arrested for molesting, showing porn film to children

Dubai: Dubai police arrested a Filipino granny after she was accused of allegedly molesting a four-year-old girl while she was playing in the kids' area at a shopping mall. The incident took place in Dubai's Al Mizhar area.

According to a report in the Khaleej Times, police said that the victims' mother had left her four-year-old girl and five-year-old boy in the play area under the nanny's protection while she went to a salon.

However, upon returning, she accused the nanny of sexually abusing her daughter and forcing the minor girl to watch a porn film on her mobile phone. She also accused the nanny of touching her daughter inappropriately.

Colonel Abdulla Rashid, director of Al Qusais police station, said that people should educate their children on how to behave with strangers and also report any indecent behaviour to their parents.

Meanwhile, police officials dismissed the case and released the nanny on bail stating that the case lacked concrete evidence.

Rashid also claimed that in the past nine months, around 6.750 cases of crime and robbery have been reported. However, apart from 155 cases, all have been solved.

Police department also said that they have deployed women patrols in several areas around the city.
