Istanbul: Mohammad Javad Azari Jahromi, Iran's information and communication minister on Sunday in retort to US President Donald Trump's tweet posted a picture of himself with an Iranian satellite saying, "Me & Nahid-1 right now, Good Morning Donald Trump!"

Trump, on Saturday, had posted a picture of what looked like a failed launch of an Iranian satellite.

Trump, on Twitter, wrote, "The United States of America was not involved in the catastrophic accident during final launch preparations for the Safir SLV Launch at Semnan Launch Site One in Iran. I wish Iran best wishes and good luck in determining what happened at Site One."

News Agency AP had reported satellite images showed evidence that launchpad in Iran's space centre was unsuccessful and was charred by an explosion.

There were speculations that the satellite was Nahid-1. Jahromi's tweet claimed that the satellite was intact.

However, what appears to be a Twitter feud between US and Iran, has been going on for some time.

Jahromi has in the past taken digs at the US president. In one of his tweets August 22, Jahromi had said, "We are all connected, not isolated islands. Trump's sanctions will hurt the US first. Thanks to Iranians all over the world!"
