Iran Claims Strikes on US Military Bases in Jordan, Kuwait
Revolutionary Guards say key American defence systems and military facilities were targeted following recent US attacks on Iran.
Iran's military and the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) on Thursday claimed to have carried out coordinated attacks on US military assets in Jordan and several American bases in Kuwait, marking a sharp escalation in regional tensions following recent US strikes on Iranian targets.
In a statement broadcast on Iranian state television, the Revolutionary Guards said they had attacked and destroyed multiple US military assets in Jordan. The claimed targets included a radar belonging to the US THAAD missile defence system, a Patriot air defence system, a C-RAM radar, and a helicopter hangar.
In a separate statement, the Guards also said they had launched strikes on Ali Al Salem Air Base, Camp Udairi, and a telecommunications tower in Kuwait.
Meanwhile, Iran's regular army said it had targeted Camp Doha, Ali Al Salem Air Base, and Camp Arifjan in Kuwait in retaliation for what it described as American attacks on Iran.
The claims have not been independently verified, and there was no immediate confirmation or response from US or Kuwaiti authorities regarding the alleged attacks or any damage.
The developments come amid rapidly escalating hostilities between Iran and the United States, raising concerns of a broader regional conflict involving key US military installations in the Gulf.
