India Urges Caution in Revised Iran Travel Advisory

Indian Embassy in Tehran advises against non-essential travel and asks citizens in Iran to remain vigilant and monitor official updates.

The Indian Embassy in Tehran has issued a revised advisory for Indian nationals, noting an improvement in the overall security situation in Iran while continuing to urge caution and vigilance.

In a statement, the Embassy said it has been closely monitoring the prevailing security situation in the Islamic Republic of Iran. Citing recent positive developments and an improvement in conditions, the mission issued updated guidance for Indian citizens contemplating travel to the country.



However, the Embassy advised Indian nationals to continue avoiding all non-essential travel to Iran until further notice.

Indian citizens currently residing in Iran, as well as those who may need to travel to the country for unavoidable official, business or functional reasons, have been urged to exercise a high degree of caution, remain vigilant at all times and maintain constant situational awareness.

The Embassy also advised Indian nationals to strictly follow instructions issued by local authorities and to register with the mission to facilitate communication and assistance if required.

Citizens have been asked to regularly monitor the Embassy's official website and social media platforms for updates and further advisories as the situation evolves.

The revised advisory comes amid signs of stabilisation following recent regional tensions, though authorities have stressed that caution remains necessary.
