Istanbul, Turkey: In a bid to escape rape attempt, a young model jumped out of a window of a rented flat of an apartment in Istanbul's Basaksehir district, according to a report in the Mirror.
The woman was completely naked when she jumped to her death.
Gulay Bursali, 20, had rented a flat in Basaksehir region to spend the weekend with her boyfriend, Engin O. The couple had approached an estate agent for a flat to spend the weekend together and ended up being attacked by him and his friend.
After handing over the apartment's keys to the couple, the estate agent tricked them and made his way into the house. He then, along with his friend, beat up Engin, snatched his mobile phone and locked him up inside a room.
They then advanced towards Bursali and attacked her too. They locked her in a room, stripped her naked and attempted to molest her.
Bursali somehow managed to break open the window and climbed outside. She then threatened to jump from the building unless they let her go.
The attackers made several attempts to bring the woman inside, but she kept screaming for help.
On-lookers said that they saw a naked woman clinging on to a window and screaming out for help. Earlier, the witnesses thought that someone might be fooling around. But when they saw a naked woman clinging out of a window, they thought something might have gone wrong.
A witness to the incident told the police that the woman kept shouting that 'If you pull me inside, I will jump'.
She desperately appealed to the attackers to let her go, but after failing to convince them to do so, she jumped to her death to save herself from their clutches.
An on-looker informed the police immediately who then rushed to the spot and managed to free her boyfriend. Investigations are on and authorities are on the lookout for the estate agent and his friend.
