Just an hour after buying a £2,00,000 Ferrari, the driver lost control of the car and careered off a motorway before it burst into flames.
While the driver walked away with just cuts and bruises, the high-performance Ferrari 430 Scuderia was reduced to a twisted wreck after the accident on a motorway in South Yorkshire, England, on Friday, according to the BBC.
The car “went airborne” and landed 50 metres down a bank in a field, where it turned into a fireball. “Colleagues from South Yorkshire Fire & Rescue were in attendance squirting water all over some kind of sporty motor some 50 or so meters down a banking,” the South Yorkshire police wrote on Facebook.

“As we are an inquisitive bunch, we found the driver and were amazed to see he only had minor cuts and bruises!” “Officers asked the driver what sort of car he ‘had’ to which he replied ‘it was a Ferrari’. Detecting a sense of damaged pride he then said ‘I’ve only just got it, picked it up an hour ago’,” the police revealed.
Images posted online show the charred debris of the jet black Ferrari 430 Scuderia after the crash. The car was one of only 499 sold, according to CNBC, and can hit 60 mph in 3.3 seconds.
According to Ferrari’s website, F1 racing legend Michael Schumacher “spent a lot of time testing the 430 Scuderia when it was being developed.”
