Vladimir Putin tours factory that makes youth' pill

Biocad is seen as Russia's leading innovative biotechnology company.

London: Russian President Vladimir Putin on Tuesday visited a Russian factory which is working on anti-ageing pills. Mr Putin, accompanied by ailing Kazakhstan leader Nursultan Nazarbayev,76, toured the Biocad plant in St Petersburg. As well as seeking a ‘youth pill’ in laboratory tests, the plant is also working on treatments to combat cancer, the Daily Mail reported.

“We are expecting the first results within a year,” scientist Alexander Karabelsk told the two leaders of an anti-ageing breakthrough. “Our goal is not to extend life but more to allow a person to improve the quality of life and feel younger in the older years.” Should the clinical trials be successful, youth pills would increase life to 130 years in just 20 or 30 years, the two presidents were told. Biocad is seen as Russia’s leading innovative biotechnology company.
