Suitcase filled with aerosols detonated near Nuremberg

It is not yet known who had caused the explosion or if there were any casualties.

An explosion went off close to an office for migration in the town of Zirndorf near Nuremberg on Wednesday, German broadcaster Bayerischer Rundfunk reported, adding that it was not yet known whether there were any casualties.

The broadcaster said on its website that a suitcase filled with aerosols was detonated, adding that it was unknown who had caused the explosion.

German police say they have deployed officers near a refugee accommodation center and a branch of the country's office for asylum-seekers amid reports of the explosion.

Police told news agency dpa they couldn't confirm or deny that report.

The area is in northern Bavaria, which has seen two attacks claimed by the Islamic State group in the past 10 days.
