UK Parliament attacker hired car from Birmingham, not Solihull: report

An Enterprise Holdings spokesperson confirmed that the car used during the attack belonged to them.

London: The car that plowed through a crowd of people on the pavement of the Westminster Bridge is said to have been hired from an Enterprise outlet in Birmingham. The new finding is opposed to an earlier report that the car was hired from Solihull.

According to a report in The Independent, the attacker drove the Hyundai into a crowd and then stabbed PC Keith Palmer, who succumbed to his injuries. He was then shot dead by armed officers near the grounds outside the Houses of Parliament.

An Enterprise Holdings spokesperson confirmed that the car used during the attack belonged to them.

"An employee identified the vehicle after seeing the licence plate in an image online. We ran another check to verify, and immediately contacted the authorities”, the spokesperson said.

The company agreed to fully co-operate with the authorities and did not divulge any more details.
