Berlin: In a gruesome act, a man burned alive his teenage girlfriend who was eight-months pregnant because he did not want to become a father.
Eren Toben, 20, burned alive his pregnant girlfriend Maria Peiner, 19, with the help of his school friend Daniel Mueller.
Toben lured Peiner under the pretext of shopping for baby clothes and toys. The duo then took Peiner into the woods where Toben attacked her with a wooden object. He then poured petrol on her and set her ablaze.
Peiner's body was found by a passer-by, who then informed the police. During investigation, police found a knife near Peiner's remains. The fingerprints on the knife led them to Toben and his partner in crime.
Toben and his friend were sentenced to 14 years in prison for the horrific crime.
