Majorca, Spain: A British couple was brutally attacked by several security guards at Magaluf holiday resort in the Spanish island of Majorca after the woman threw a plastic cup at them.
The incident is believed to have happened after a disagreement between the couple and the hotel’s security staff.
In the video footage uploaded on YouTube, the bikini-clad woman can be seen pinned down to the floor by a security guard after being slapped by him. The guards then move to kick and punch her boyfriend too.
Confirming the incident, one of the eye witnesses said that the bouncers slapped the woman only after she threw a cup at them, forcing her boyfriend to intervene. The woman sustained minor injuries, while her boyfriend had to deal with serious cuts and bruises.
The incident came to light when a bruised image of the man was posted on the woman's Facebook page, triggering a debate and many people calling for action against the bouncers.
Soon, the video appeared online and people flooded the comments section with their views. One person commented saying that it was not the way the staff of a reputed four-star hotel behaves.
Another one wrote, “I'm so disgusted with the staff SAFE 4 u working at the BH Mallorca hotel ... guards picked up on a girl because she threw a plastic cup at one of them, the guy went up to her and slaps her so her boyfriend trying to protect her jump in and end up with broken head and bleeding from eyes.”
Meanwhile, the hotel authorities said, “We do not condone the use of violence & we have been working with local authorities since last night to establish exactly what happened before and after what is shown on the film that lead up to this incident.”
