Russian 'psycho' granny murders friend, cuts her head off and boils it in pan

Samsonova used a handsaw to cut the victim into pieces, before putting it into plastic bags and disposing them off.

St Petersburg: A woman accused of murdering her friend by putting sleeping pills in her food and dismembering her body, was caught on CCTV camera when she tried to sneak out of an apartment in Russian city of St Petersburg to dispose off the victim's body parts.

According to a report in the Daily Mail, the granny, 68, identified as Tamara Samsonova has been accused of murdering her friend Valentina Ulanova, before severing her head and boiling it in a huge pan.

Investigators believe that Samsonova crushed 50 sleeping pills and mixed it in her friend's meal.

Samsonova was caught on camera when she sneaked out of her apartment with the frying pan to throw her friend's severed head in a dustbin and escape from the crime scene.

She has also been accused of trying to hide the victim's corpse by dismembering it and hiding the pieces of her body at different places inside the apartment. According to investigators, Samsonova used a handsaw to cut the victim into pieces, before putting it into plastic bags.

While trying to establish a connection between the victim and the accused, police found out that Samsonova worked as a carer for the victim in July last year. They also added that the accused had hostile relations with the victim which might have been the reason behind the crime.

During investigation, it emerged that Samsonova suffered from 'paranoid schizophrenia.' Investigators are probing that she might have hurt or killed more people due to her mental condition, but are unsure about it.

She has currently been admitted and detained at the Kazab Psychiatric Hospital under intensive security.
