Georgia: In a shocking incident, a mother permitted the school authorities to paddle her five-year-old son and captured it on camera. The video kicked off a furore across social media platforms and outraged many.
According to Jasper County Primary School authorities, the boy was punished because he got into a fight with fellow students and had spit on one of them.
“If I would not have agreed to the authorities' intent, I would have been put behind bars,” said the mother who has been sent to jail previously because of her son’s 18 unexcused absences.
Georgia is one of the 19 states that allows children to be hit in public schools as punishment.
