Video: Businessman crashlands boat into £1million yacht; kills friend accidentally

The video footage shows Brown riding his boat in full speed, following which he crashlands onto the platform of his swimming pool.

Hampshire: In a show off stunt gone horribly wrong, a telecom businessman accidentally killed his friend when the powerful dingy he was riding crashed into his £1million luxury yacht.

The mishap took place when millionaire Aaron Brown was driving his Rib boat at the dangerous speed of 30mph. He suddenly lost control and crashed his boat into a larger one, killing Ryan McKinlay on the spot.

The entire incident was captured on camera by Mckinlay’s wife Fran. She later produced it as evidence in the court.

The video footage shows Brown riding his boat in full speed, following which he crashlands onto the platform of his swimming pool. Brown and Mckinlay are then thrown into the air due to the intensity of the accident.

Soon after the mishap, lifeboats raced to the scene and McKinlay was airlifted to St Mary's hospital in Newport where he was pronounced dead.

According to Mckinlay’s medical reports, Pathologist Dr Basil Purdue said the victim’s injuries were consistent with a high energy impact collision, and that catastrophic internal bleeding was followed by a rapid loss of consciousness. He said the injuries were 'unsurvivable'.

While court registered a manslaughter case against Brown, the 34-year-old millionaire denied the allegations quoting it as accident.

Prosecutor Nick Tucker noted that 'it was an accident but we say it was an accident that was foreseeable and wholly avoidable’.

Tucker told the court that Brown had taken a group of friends - including professional footballers Lee Bradbury and Lee Molyneaux - for a day out on his 62ft Fairline Targa cabin cruiser True Blue in June 2015. The case is currently under trial.
