Birmingham: A 22-year-old girl has told the police that she was abused for over two years by 137 paedophiles, including the one who created her profile on a swinger’s website, when she was in school.
According to a report in Birmingham Mail, the police have the custody of only three of them so far. A schoolteacher, William Hanna, 66, his girlfriend Dianne Whitehouse, 61, and Ian McGlasson, 50, were sentenced to 19 years in jail. Two other suspects were also arrested, but they committed suicide.
The girl, Paula Smith (name changed), was 13 years old when she was raped for the first time. In November 2008, when Smith was on her way to school, one Nigel Greaves picked her up and took her to his home.
“I assumed Nan had arranged for him to come and pick me up. He drove me towards Nan’s house but then headed to his instead. I asked him why and he said he needed to pick something up and asked me to go inside. Once inside, he dragged me upstairs,” Smith, who lived with her grandparents, said.
Greaves dropped her at the city centre in Birmingham after repeatedly sexually assaulting her. He was one of the two men who committed suicide after being arrested.
After Greaves, another man – Ian McGlasson – abused her for over two years. McGlasson contacted Smith through Facebook, pretending to be a child counsellor. On the day of their first meeting, he took her to a hotel for a "counselling session," but he allegedly raped her.
“We sat and talked for an hour and I became upset. He then sat next to me and began touching my leg. He then covered my mouth with his hand and pushed me down and raped me. Afterwards he said he was really sorry, he said he just wanted me to feel loved,” Smith said, adding she was terrified and confused after the incident.
Smith said McGlasson "brainwashed" her into believing that he loved her. However, the abuse still continued. Smith said that McGlasson sometimes drugged her before raping her.
McGlasson even brought more child molesters, who would physically and sexually assault her. He contacted the other accused through a swinger’s website he created without Smith's knowledge.
She was repeatedly assaulted by Hanna and Whitehouse, now serving sentence, who sold her to other people. They even filmed some of the sexual assaults and posted them on internet.
Smith said she had given hints about child sexual exploitation (CSE) to social services, her teachers, and police, but they failed to help her.
It was her mother who contacted the police when she received a message on Facebook from McGlasson, who told her he was Smith’s boyfriend.
Smith is now a mother of two children and assisting other victims of CSE and abuse....
