Bucharest: Irked at her husband for not sharing household responsibilities, a 40-year-old Romanian woman gave him a rather painful punishment- she tore open his scrotum, leaving one of his testicle hanging.
According to media reports, 39-year-old Ionel Popa arrived at the hospital with his left testicle hanging out of his torn scrotum and had to be immediately operated upon to undo the damage.
Popa's wife Marinela, who appeared unrepentant, was quoted by the media as saying "Ionel was given a bottle of wine for a day’s work instead of getting paid, and had arrived home drunk. When he gets drunk, he changes. All night he made me keep the fire on because he was cold and I did it to avoid having an argument."
"In the morning I told him to go out and help me with some digging in the garden," she said.
But Marinela lost her cool when Popa, instead of helping her out, hit back at her saying that she was not entitled to tell him what to do and that he did not want to do digging because he was a man.
"I told him he was not any kind of man and I grabbed his balls. It was not my fault that he pulled away, and that’s when it happened," she said.
She added that her husband totally deserved what happened and that she was not liable as she did not realise her own strength. The couple have been married for 15 years, and have a 15-year-old son.
