Russian woman kidnaps her husband's lovechild, drowns her in river; arrested

During interrogation, the accused's husband supported her saying that he refused to believe that his wife could harm the baby.

Moscow City: A Russian woman has been arrested on the charges of kidnapping her husband's lovechild and drowning her in a river.

According to a report in the Daily Mail, the two-year-old victim identified as Yana Loenenko, was kidnapped by her step-mother after her aunt left her alone in a pushchair, unattended for sometime.

When the victim's aunt returned, she saw woman carrying the minor girl away. When she got suspicious, she began screaming and pleading for help -- but was unable to get hold of the victim.

The aunt also claimed that the accused dragged the victim away while some witnesses to the incident said that the victim herself went with the accused and was not even crying when the woman took her away.

Later, the victim's lifeless body was found in a river. A police complaint was registered based on the aunt's statement. She told police that her the victim's step-mother had killed her.

During interrogation, the accused's husband supported her saying that he refused to believe that his wife could harm the baby. Police are trying to determine the motive behind the crime and are carrying out further investigations.
