Father with 9-month-old baby on hand punched by airport worker

Arkwright, who published the photo on the Twitter account, said the young British father, probably, in his late 20s.

Paris: Following a gruelling over a 14-hours flight delay, an airport worker on Monday whacked a man who was with his nine-month-old baby with 'one hell of a punch' at the Nice airport in France.

According to a Daily Mail report, one of the witnesses, Arabella Arkwright, 49, who was with her husband and two children waiting in the queue to board the easyJet flight, captured the act of airport worker lunging on the young father to punch.

Arkwright, who published the photo on the Twitter account, said the young British father, probably, in his late 20s while holding the baby told the airport worker that he had terrible day, which irked the worker and pounced on him to punch.

Arkwright, who also hails from Britain, is a businesswoman. She said, the authority was stopped by her husband, probably because the worker's action enraged him.

She added, “It was one hell of a punch. It was a loud whack and there was no provocation. Everyone was having the most appalling day and then, all of a sudden, the man holding a baby gets whacked."

The police in Nice on Tuesday confirmed that they had received a call about the incident and that it was being investigated. A police source said, “We have seen the photograph and will be examining video footage in the airport terminal.”

Meanwhile, an easyJet spokesperson, who fail to take responsibility of an incident, said the airport employee does not work for the airline. He said, the flight delayed due to a 'technical glitch' and that a replacement jet and crew were being sent from London Gatwick.

“EasyJet is very concerned to see this picture and can confirm the person in the photo is not an easyJet member of staff nor do they work for easyJet's ground handling agents in Nice”, the spokesperson added.
