The term "Republic of Balochistan" has surged across social media, prompting questions about whether Balochistan has truly separated from Pakistan. The trend took off after Baloch activist Mir Yar Baloch announced the region's independence through a series of posts on platform X.
Social media posts have surfaced claiming that Balochistan has declared independence from Pakistan. On Wednesday, Mir Yar Baloch, who identifies himself as a representative of the Baloch people, posted on X asserting that the people of Balochistan have delivered their "national verdict" and urged the international community to break its silence.
“Tum Maroge Hum Neklengy, Hum Nasal Bachany Nekly Hain. We are out to save our nation. Come and support us. Baloch people across Pakistan-occupied Balochistan are on the streets, and this is their national verdict -Balochistan is not Pakistan. The world can’t remain a silent spectator anymore,” he wrote.
Mir Yar Baloch also appealed to Indian citizens particularly the media, YouTubers, and intellectuals to refrain from referring to Balochs as "Pakistan's own people."
“Dear Indian patriot media, YouTube comrades, and intellectuals fighting to defend Bharat, please do not call Balochs ‘Pakistan’s own people.’ We are not Pakistani; we are Balochistani. Pakistan’s own people are the Punjabis, who have never faced air bombings, enforced disappearances, or genocide,” he said.
However, no official and verifiable sources have confirmed the formation of the Republic of Balochistan
