Canada Warns Citizens Against Travel to J&K After Pahalgam Attack
Cites high risks of unrest, terrorism; excludes Ladakh from advisory

The Canadian government has issued an updated travel advisory for India, urging its citizens to avoid all travel to the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir and areas along the India-Pakistan border, following last week's terror attack on tourists in Pahalgam.
The advisory, released late Friday, highlighted that the security situation in Jammu and Kashmir remains tense, warning of "high risks of violent protests, civil unrest, and acts of terrorism and militancy." It, however, excluded the Union Territory of Ladakh from the warning.
Additionally, the Canadian government pointed out that the Attari-Wagah land crossing between India and Pakistan is currently closed, advising travelers to monitor local developments closely. The move comes amid heightened tensions in the region, with India revoking visas of Pakistani nationals and tightening security measures after the deadly Pahalgam incident, which claimed the lives of 26 people, mostly tourists.
