Victoria: An Australian man has been arrested for brutally stomping his girlfriend's two-year-old daughter to death for wetting his couch.
According to a report in the Daily Mail, the accused identified as Mussie Debresay, was found guilty of manslaughter after he beat the toddler to death.
Earlier, the accused had denied the claim saying that the girl fell from the couch, but after the case underwent a trial at the Victorian Supreme Court, he confessed to the crime.
During the trial of the case, the jury observed out that the toddler was inflicted with multiple injuries which could not have possibly been due to falling.
"Besides stomping, he also demonstrated a swinging, kicking motion," prosecutors told the court.
Moreover, medical reports of the victim stated that her abdomen was deliberately squeezed with extreme force and that she must have been dead within a few hours.
The victim's four-year-old brother, who was witness to the crime, told police that his sister did a 'wee wee' on the couch and the accused hit her.
After a statement by the victim's brother, the court charged the accused with manslaughter. He has been taken into custody and will be sentenced at the next hearing in November.
