Australian men torture kangaroo; decapitate him and capture the act on camera

Sydney: In a horrifying incident, four Australian men have been accused of running over a kangaroo, stamping and knifing it, filming the entire act on camera and posting it on the social media platform Snapchat.

According to a report in the Independent, the video shows four men burning the animal with a cigarette while it was alive.

Police officials investigating the case said that the men allegedly stabbed the animal in the head with a hunting knife, then stomped on its stomach and continued to do so until its head got detached from its body.

The video, uploaded by one of the men on Snapchat, has received huge backlash from social media users.

Investigators said that these acts of 'animal cruelty' amount to imprisonment of up to four years or fine up to 50,000 Australian dollars.

Reports suggest that the estimated kangaroo population in Australia is about 50 million, resulting in a kangaroo cull by government to prevent de-vegetation.
