Indian Embassy's Mango Tasting Event Draws Record Crowd in US
The ambassador said the overwhelming response sends a clear message that such promotional events should be organised more frequently and could expand to include a wider range of Indian food products

Washington DC: The Indian Embassy's mango tasting event, 'Taste the Tropical Magic,' attracted more than 8,000 visitors in Washington DC, exceeding initial expectations.
Indian Ambassador to the US, Vinay Mohan Kwatra, said the embassy had expected around 8,000 attendees based on RSVPs, but the actual turnout was significantly higher. He said the response showed that Indian mangoes have become firmly embedded in American taste preferences.
Kwatra said the event was not about "mango diplomacy" but about showcasing a small part of India's rich culinary heritage. Along with mangoes, visitors were introduced to Indian basmati rice, tea, coffee and even olive tea from India.
He added that the pleasant weather also contributed to the event's success, allowing visitors to enjoy the food and cultural experience.

The Indian Embassy hosted 'Taste the Tropical Magic' on Saturday (local time), celebrating India's renowned mango varieties with free tastings for the public.
