Democratic Congressman John Delaney has become the first person to announce he will seek his party’s presidential nomination in a bid to defeat Donald Trump in the 2020 presidential election. Mr Delaney, 54, tweeted: “I’m running for President”.
In an article for The Washington Post, he set out a policy emphasising his socially liberal and pro-business views. He is the first to announce his 2020 bid. Others Democrats tipped to run include Indian-American Kamala Harris, the Independent reported.
