Mexico: A 17-year-old boy died after a blood clot created by a love bite in his neck, travelled to his brain, causing a stroke.
According to reports, the boy, Julio Macias Gonzalez, was in his home when he was seized by a string of convulsions. Though relatives rushed him to the hospital, doctors could not save Julio. They later attributed the cause of death to the hickey.
Julio’s relatives in Iztapalapa borough revealed that he was in a relationship with a 24-year-old woman, and he continued the relationship despite their disapproval over age difference. The young woman could not be reached following the incident.
Last year, a 24-year-old woman in New Zealand was admitted to the hospital after a stroke left her partially paralyzed. On subsequent observation, the doctors found a love bite on the right side of her neck, which had left a bruise. The clot dissolved away after doctors gave her anti-coagulation medicines.
