Texas man murders wife's family to lure her, kills her in funeral procession

Texas: A 41-year-old man from Texas, United States, faces life time in jail after he killed his wife at her sister’s funeral. He is also accused of killing his sister-in-law and her father in order to lure his wife to their funeral.

According to a report in the Independent, Samuel Velasco Gurrolam, the convict, hatched the devious plot with the help of his two siblings to kill his wife Ruth Sagredo, so that she wouldn’t testify against him in a sexual assault case.

In 2008, Samuel hired the service of a hitman to kill Ruth’s father in Mexico’s El Paso to lure her to the funeral.

But she stayed away from the funeral, prompting him to plot her sister’s death.

Ruth was killed in her sister’s funeral procession at El Paso. Samuel, his brother Emmanuel and his sister Dalia are allegedly a part of the criminal gang called the ‘Velasco enterprise’ and are responsible for a number of extortion and kidnapping incidents in Mexico from 2009 to 2013.

Samuel is set to be sentenced in January.
