Hyderabad: Sai Varshith Kandula, the Telugu teen who crashed a U-Haul truck near the White House has been arrested on Tuesday and charged with trying to kill or harm the president of USA.
President Joe Biden was briefed on the situation and an official statement by the White House said, "The President is relieved that no one was injured last night and grateful to agents and law enforcement officers who responded quickly."
Who is Sai Varshith and why did he want to kill Joe Biden?
According to local news websites of the US, Sai Varshith graduated in 2022 from the Marquette Senior High School in Chesterfield in Missouri and wanted to become a data analyst.
The 19-year-old, who intentionally crashed the U-haul truck into a security barrier at the park across the White House, is believed to be a Nazi admirer.
He also left a Nazi flag at the crash spot, after he flew from St. Louis on a one-way ticket.
His aim, according to the Police, was to "Get to the White House, seize power, and be put in charge of the nation".
Sai Varshith is now charged with "assault with a dangerous weapon, reckless operation of a motor vehicle, threatening to kill/kidnap/inflict harm on a president, vice president, or family member, destruction of federal property, and trespassing."
