Hillary Clinton's September campaign began with USD 152 million in kitty

The average donation to HFA during September was about USD 50.

Washington: Democrat Hillary Clinton's campaign and the Democratic Party started September with a whopping USD 152 million in their bank, her team has announced.

Between Hillary for America (HFA), the Hillary Victory Fund (HVF) and the Hillary Action Fund (HAF), Democrats began September with about USD 152 million in the bank, the Clinton Campaign said in a statement.

In its monthly filing before the Federal Election Commission HFA said it began September with more than USD 68 million in the bank after raising more than USD 62 million in August thanks to more than 1.1 million contributions from about 700,000 people during the month.

The average donation to HFA during September was about USD 50.

"The millions of Americans who have contributed to this campaign and to the Democratic Party have ensured that we head into the final 50 days of the election with the most robust organising effort in history, and the resources we need to mobilize the millions of voters we need to elect progressive candidates up and down the ballot," said HFA Campaign Manager Robby Mook.

"With voting already underway in some parts of the country, the race will continue to tighten and we will need to fight for every vote and do everything we can to make sure our message cuts through and that Democrats turn out to vote," Mook said.

Clinton brought in over USD 140 million through Hillary for America, the HVF, and the HAF last month.

She raised about USD 17 million in August in contributions of USD 200 or less (unitemised directly raised to HFA and unitemised allocations from HVF) and more than 60 per cent of the campaign's contributions for the month were from women.
