'Bigly': Trump uses unusual word in debate; people just can't stop Googling it

The word exists in Merriam-Webster dictionary and means, large in size,' and large in number or amount.'

The word 'bigly,' used by Republican Donald Trump during the last US presidential debate with Democrat Hillary Clinton on Wednesday night, became the most searched term on Google on Thursday.

However, this is not the first time when Trump used the term ‘bigly.’ During the first presidential debate Trump had said: "I'm going to cut taxes bigly, and you're going to raise taxes bigly,” according to a report in BBC.

People had questioned the existence of the word, only to find that it exists. Fiona McPherson, a senior editor with the Oxford English Dictionary, had said ‘bigly’ was used by Thomas Hardy in ‘Far From the Madding Crowd’ to mean “proudly, haughtily, pompously.”

The word even exists in Merriam-Webster dictionary and means, “large in size,” “large in number or amount,” and “involving or including many people, things.”
