Barack Obama's tweet is most liked tweet ever
An anti-racism tweet by former US President Barack Obama after the Charlottesville violence in which he quoted iconic South African anti-apartheid leader Nelson Mandela has become the most liked tweet ever, garnering more than 2.8 million likes.
“No one is born hating another person because of the color of his skin or his background or his religion (sic),” the tweet read.
It was posted on Saturday along with a photo of 56-year-old Mr Obama looking up to a window of children of different ethnicities and races. The tweet has been endorsed by more than 2.8 million social media users and has also been retweeted by over 1.2 million times. Mr Obama has not spoken out on the violence except via quotes from Mandela, the South African anti-apartheid icon who died in 2013.
