Georgia man who sexted teen while his baby died in hot car found guilty

In their judgment, the jury stated that the accused purposely left his son in the car to perish.

Brunswick: Obsessed with seeking sex outside marriage, a Georgia man who left his 22-month-old son to die inside a hot SUV car, was found guilty and was convicted for murder.

In their judgment, the jury stated that the accused purposely left his son in the car to perish.

"Today is not a day we consider a victory. It's not a verdict we celebrate. I believe categorically, unequivocally, that justice was served today," said Cobb County District Attorney Vic Reynolds while announcing the judgement.

Justin Ross Harris wass charged with malice murder and other crimes in the June 2014 death of his 22-month-old son, Cooper.

Authorities said Cooper died after sweltering for seven hours in the parking lot of the Home Depot office where his father worked as a computer technician in the Atlanta suburb of Cobb County.

Harris told police he watched cartoons with his son that morning, took him to breakfast at a Chick-fil-A restaurant and kissed Cooper while strapping him into his car seat. But Harris said he forgot to drop his son off at day care and drove to work, forgetting the boy was in the back seat.
