US mother beats infant to death after she kept crying; arrested

Autopsy report revealed that the minor had a number of bruises on her head, neck, buttocks and face.

Boscobel, Wisconsin: A US woman has been arrested on the charges of killing her three-month-old daughter after the infant would not stop crying, police officials said.

The incident took place in a Boscobel, a town in the US state of Wisconsin.

Identified as Renae Bellis, the 31-year-old accused allegedly shook the infant and continued to do so until she died, following which she put the blame on her husband leading to his arrest.

Authorities said that they had received a phone call early morning about a dead baby found in a home.

When police reached the house, they found a lifeless baby with Bellis and her husband. During investigation, officials found out that a night before the crime, Bellis was trying to feed the infant from a bottle and the three-month-old was fussy, which infuriated the accused.

She told the police that the infant "kept screaming and screaming and screaming.”

According to a report, Bellis had slapped the infant and also hit her on the buttocks. The autopsy report revealed that the minor had a number of bruises on her head, neck, buttocks and face.

Bellis has been charged with first degree homicide and is scheduled to appear before the court this week. She is currently being kept at Grant County Jail.
