Tasteless, insensitive: Kim Kardashian costume pulled from site after backlash

The USD 69.99 costume is accompanied by white robe, long black wig, USD 4 million dollar ring, large sunglasses, fake gag and 2 of rope.

Los Angeles: Costume company Costumeish's Kim Kardashian-inspired Parisian heist robbery victim costume kit for Halloween has received backlash with many calling it "tasteless and insensitive".

The USD 69.99 costume is accompanied by "a white short robe, long black wig, 'USD 4 million dollar' ring, large sunglasses, fake gag and 2' of rope, reported Ace Showbiz.

While the company didn't directly name Kim on its website, the description for the controversial costume read, "This Halloween it's all about the #Hallomeme and who better than America's goddess of all things glamorous 'Parisian Heist Robbery Victim Costume?'

"She has devoted her life to promoting American decadence, youth and hedonism but all that flashy living caught up with her one night in Paris when armed men bound her, stole her jewellery and her peace of mind. This Halloween have some fun with pop culture and dress just like the Queen of social media."

Costumeish received backlash from Twitter users. One user wrote, "The Kim Kardashian Halloween costume is beyond disrespectful #disgusting."

Another one added, "There's a Kim Kardashian robbery victim Halloween costume - who in their right mind would buy something so pathetic and insulting."

Following the backlash, the company has decided to pull the Kim Kardashian-inspired costume from its online store. Costumeish founder Johnathon Weeks said this is the first time they've removed a costume from their online store. He will provide refunds for six people who already purchased the costume.
